Biodigester sewage treatment plants are low-cost installations which are suitable for sites with difficult access.
A Biodigester unit uses a process of aeration of a medium within the plant unit by diffusing air from the bottom of its central chamber. The activity of the naturally occurring micro-organisms which convert the sewage to a clear effluent and non toxic sludge is greatly accelerated by this increased oxygen supply.
The input air also operates as an 'Air Lift' re-circulating solids from the outer 'Settlement Chamber' to the inner 'Treatment Chamber'.
